Main purpose of job
Working with the Management Team to organise and coordinate the day to day production demands arising from your Shift, in so far as, the day to day people management, planning and co-ordination requirements to ensure available resource is targeted to deliver the production output to meet customer quality and order delivery demand to within the Company business and policy objectives.
Salary: £8.97 - £9.38 per hour plus 15% shift allowance
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Working with the Management Team to organise and coordinate the day to day production demands arising from your allocated Shift.
Working cooperatively with the Management Team to plan the work demand for your Team on a day to day basis ensuring available resource is coordinated to meet the demand placed upon your Team, ensuring 100% fulfilment of the production schedule and working to within Company business and policy objectives.
To support your Management Team in ensuring sensible utilisation of all available production equipment and automated machinery - to include problem solving / troubleshooting when planning work and managing downtime.
To support staff development and training increasing understanding of production equipment, automated machinery, production operations, safety and administration demands.
In consultation with the Team Manager, managing the day to day technical operation of your allocated Shift, ensuring timely and accurate tool changes, tool and equipment is managed properly plus adherence to any maintenance schedules and providing support for tool / material evaluations.
To ensure any production records and Team administration demands are maintained properly and kept up to-date.
To work with all you're your colleagues in maintaining a high level of housekeeping within the production environment/Team, ensuring all health and safety standards are met and that the Production function operates in a safe and healthy manner.
To develop and keep up-to-date your own professional knowledge, skills and experience in order to meet current working practices.
To undertake any activity as directed by the Line Management and within current skill range or training to support the introduction of new activities, attitudes, skills or knowledge and/or the demonstration of professional competence.
To work co-operatively with your Team, Colleagues and the Business as a whole to deliver business objectives and output.
At all times during employment to devote sufficient attention to the duties and activities required by this employment and to faithfully and diligently perform such duties and powers assigned to the job holder.
To promote the interests of the Company and any Group Company at all times and to undertake any tasks in support of the Company's business objectives as a whole.
Experience / Background / Competency
- Experience within a production / engineering environment - to include demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process technology.
- Experience of setting, operating and troubleshooting a wide range of production tooling within an Extrusion or Moulding environment.
- Product Knowledge - can demonstrate ability to hold broad product range knowledge, materials, machinery and associated equipment within the manufacturing processes.
- Management Skills - the ability to plan work, manage a Team to deliver production objectives within agreed time scales and costs.
- Quality Management - to include process management and the ability to adhere to and improve agreed procedures.
- Product Development - advising/recommending tooling specifications to support the manufacture of new / amended product designs
Key Qualifications required
- Completion of relevant internal Training Portfolio modules
- Relevant lift truck or lifting equipment certificate applicable to work place
- NVQ 3 Performing Manufacturing Operations
