Job Description

Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Software Developer to join a market leading Tech Company based in Loughton, Essex.

The Job

You will form part of a vibrant team where you will be responsible for developing software that controls and manages the company's hardware products which are built at the Loughton site. Work will involve development of frontend browser-based client software, middleware, and backend controlling software, together with opportunities to work with real-time software.

Products developed by this team are deployed both at customer sites and in the Amazon AWS Cloud. This role is therefore a great opportunity for a Software Developer who already has experience in desktop and web-based development, and wants to expand their experience into cloud technologies and IoT.

Whilst primarily a hands-on role, there is also an opportunity for the applicant to demonstrate knowledge of project management, with the requirement to define tasks and timescales for sub-projects.

The applicant will also gain experience in testing and writing documentation. This role is a tremendous opportunity to be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Person Specification

Experience in the following is essential:

Software development using:

  • C# (3 - 5 years)
  • HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, and AngularJS (1 - 2 years)

Experience in the following is desirable:

  • DotNetCore
  • Amazon AWS Cloud Lambda serverless and DynamoDB serverless
  • RESTful API
  • Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
  • SQL
  • GIT Source Control
  • C++
  • Object Orientated Programming
  • The whole software development lifecycle
  • Awareness of good software construction practices
  • Working individually and as a team to set project timeframes where specific goals have had to be met by specific dates
  • In-work experience of developing software
  • Ability to work to tight timescales under own steam on multiple projects
