Overview for Specialist Occupational Therapist:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Specialist OT to join this residential unit providing accommodation and care to young adults special educational needs (SEN) school and specialist college that provides education, care and medical therapy to young people aged 7 to 25, who have a wide range of complex learning disabilities, such as autism and related autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and young people who have special needs resulting from behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD). This is predominately a Monday-Friday role. Job description available upon request.
Skills/Requirements for Specialist Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with Health Professions Council (HCPC)
- Member of British association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT)
- Sensory Integration to Level 2/3 preferred
Main responsibilities of Specialist Occupational Therapist:
- Responsibility for delivering an effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service
- Participating in future developments and promoting the Occupational Therapy role
- Delivery of OT assessments for new referrals and admissions and be responsible for their own case load.
